WESTCHESTER, NY — The Lads will aim to sweep the season series against Westchester this Saturday when they visit the Yorkers at Mount Vernon Memorial Field. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM PT with streaming available on ESPN+.
League One Standings
Spokane is fifth in League One standings and four points behind One Knoxville SC for fourth. The side will be looking to create some separation from the rest of the table, with only three points separating Velocity FC from eighth place AV Alta FC.
The Yorkers are on the outside looking in, sitting in twelfth place with 23 points. After missing the playoffs in their inaugural season last year, Westchester is aiming to make the jump in 2026.
Looking Back
Velocity FC’s last match was a 2-1 home victory against Greenville Triumph SC on August 22nd. Overall, the Lads have won four of their last five regular-season matches, with three of those wins at home. It has been over a month since Spokane played a full match on the road, with their last one being on July 18th because of two road tilts in August being postponed due to weather or travel delays.
Westchester nearly won their first road match of the season last Saturday, settling for a 2-2 draw against Corpus Christi FC. The Yorkers have gone unbeaten in four of their last five regular-season matches and are an impressive 6-2-2 at home, posing a challenge for a Spokane side that has struggled on the road.
Players to Watch
Velocity FC: forward Shavon John-Brown – Whether it’s his speed attacking the ball or precision on shot attempts, Shavon has led the charge offensively for Spokane this year. He leads the club in goals scored with five and has gotten 12 of his 15 shot attempts on target.
Westchester SC: Midfielder Conor McGlynn – McGlynn is contending for the League One Golden Boot this year, with his ten goals on the season second among all L1 players.

Following Saturday’s match, Velocity FC will continue their road trip with a contest against Sarasota Paradise on September 5th. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM PT and can be streamed on ESPN+.
