SPOKANE, WA — The duo landed on League One’s Team of the Week for their goal contributions against Westchester SC last weekend, marking the second straight week that Spokane has been represented in Team of the Week.
The pair connected on a goal in the 44th minute against Westchester, with Denton placing a perfect cross from the far side into the six-yard box which John-Brown received in transition and scored on. The goal gave Spokane a 2-1 lead into halftime that they would not relinquish, ultimately winning the match 3-1.
Goal contributions have been their specialty this season, as John-Brown leads Velocity FC in goals with six while Denton leads in assists with four. Shavon has racked up three goals and two assists across his last four matches, proving himself as one of the premier offensive players in League One.
John-Brown and Denton have entrenched themselves as familiar names on the Team of the Week, earning multiple selections this season. Shavon leads Velocity FC in selections with five, while Denton is not far behind with three.
