SPOKANE, WA — Velocity FC was represented in League One’s Team of the Week once again, with Vinyals, Neco Brett, and Andre Lewis earning selections for their goal contributions last Saturday against the Hearts of Pine.
Vinyals had two assists and a goal on Saturday, leading Spokane to a 3-0 halftime lead over Portland. His pair of assists raised his career total in League One to 25, becoming the first player in league history to reach that milestone. Vinyals’ three goal contributions led to his first Player of the Week selection since round five of the 2024 USL Cup.
Brett and Lewis both scored goals in the first half against Portland, leading to their Team of the Week selections alongside Vinyals. On the season, Brett is second on the team in goals scored with five, while Lewis is tied for fifth with three.
This marks the second straight week that Spokane has had multiple players on Team of the Week after Jack Denton, Lucky Opara, and Sean Lewis made it last week. In addition, Vinyals was the first Velocity FC player to earn a Player of the Week award since week 21 when Shavon John-Brown earned it.
