CHATTANOOGA, TN — The Lads can win their second match in a row when they visit the Red Wolves on Wednesday. Inclement weather forced a match on August 1st between these two sides to be rescheduled to this week. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. PT with streaming available on ESPN+.
League One Standings
Velocity FC is seventh in league standings with 43 points and at least two games in hand on the top six sides above them. Spokane can leapfrog Chattanooga for sixth with a win on Wednesday, with a top four spot still in reach. The Red Wolves are tied with Spokane in points and can distance themselves from them with a win. After missing the playoffs in their inaugural season last year, Chattanooga is in position to earn a spot in 2026.
Last Time Out
Spokane shut out Forward Madison FC 1-0 last Saturday on the road, handing the Flamingos their first home loss in league play this season. Velocity FC made up some ground on the third place Madison side, with the Lads controlling their destiny of earning a home playoff match.
Chattanooga also played on Saturday, losing 0-1 to FC Naples on the road. The Red Wolves have been shut out in two of their last three matches, however, are still top four in the league in goals scored with 47.
Players to Watch
Goalkeeper Sean Lewis will be looking to build off his clean sheet against Madison with another strong performance against a top five offense statistically. Lewis has 55 saves on the season so far and is one save away from reaching 250 all-time in his League
One career. Lewis would be the 9th player in league history to reach this milestone.
Chattanooga forward Pedro Hernandez is in contention for the Golden Boot this season, with his 12 goals tied for second in League One. His impact offensively will be crucial against a Spokane side that has conceded just 33 goals in league play.
