Javier Martin Gil had stops with Real Madrid, Atletico de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano programs in his native Spain. He came to the U.S. and first played two seasons with Ohio Valley University in West Virginia before he transferred to Missouri State University. He started all matches in 2022 and 2023, and was named All-MVC first team in 2022 and second team in 2023. He was the MVC Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 12, 2023.
